Sa katatapos lamang na search and rescue operations sa lumubog na Super Ferry 9 sa Zamboanga del Norte, marami ang sumaludo at humanga sa ginawang mabilis at maayos na pagtugon ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan kabilang na ang Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Air Force at ilan pang mga commercial vessels upang sagipin ang halos isang libong pasahero ng Super Ferry 9. Sa kabila ng matagumpay na search and rescue operations, ating balikan ang kwento ng Philippine Air Force upang magsilbing inspirasyon sa ating mga taga-subaybay. |

The latest sea tragedy off the coast of Zamboanga peninsula last Sunday once again highlighted the readiness of Philippine Air Force to respond to distress calls involving the lives of innocent civilians. This has been the pattern seen by news watchers after the PAF exhibited, albeit sans fanfare, daring rescue operations during the Compostela landslides, Cotabato and Cagayan de Oro floods, the Chemtrad Islander plane crash in Sierra Madre and the Typhoon Frank devastation in Panay.

Clark Air Base in Pampanga has always evoked the images of war.
